Belize

Belize is a small, enchanting country located just south of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, 150 miles south of Cancun. It is about the size of Massachusetts. Belize is located in Central America and the Belize offshore islands and Belize Barrier Reef are in the crystal clear Caribbean Sea.

Belize is a British Commonwealth Country. English is the official language and Spanish is a common second language. Belize's system of laws and government are similar to both the United States and Great Britain. Belize is served by five international airlines including American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, US Air and TACA. There are direct flights to Belize City from several US Cities. A valid passport is required for entrance to Belize. Commuter airlines, Tropic Air and Maya Island, fly from Belize City to Ambergris Caye.

Belize was once home for highly sophisticated Mayan Civilization. Multiple well-preserved Mayan ruins are seen thought the country.
