Restaurant and Bar
Our over -the-water restaurant and bar is known as the Tackle Box Sea Bar. This has been built as a tribute to Mr. Allan Foreman, a founder of the tourist industry in Belize. He is the original builder and proprietor of the famous "Tackle Box Sea Bar" in San Pedro. For many years it was the place to go in all of Belize. Even "Miss World" was a visitor. Unfortunately Hurricane Mitch was destroyed it in 1998. The new Tackle Box has been built in the style, colors and decor of the original and was done under the guidance of Mr. Foreman. Mr. Foreman himself, will be a frequent guest and will serve as our on-site historian and raconteur.
The Tackle Box Sea Bar serves incredibly fresh seafood, including lobster and conch when in season. The fish you will enjoy in the evening were swimming that morning. In addition delicious beef and chicken dishes are available as well as vegetarian plates.
Beach cookouts and barbeques are regular events. The bar is full service and loaded with character. The bar itself is half of a wooden speedboat. Festive Caribbean style drinks will be offered, in addition to serving that wonderful staple of Belize, ice cold Belikin beer. The Tackle Box Sea Bar is the perfect place to talk about your beautiful snorkel trip, your great dive, or about the big fish you caught.
And, you never know who might run into at the Tackle Box. The Prime Minister of Belize, the Belize Minister of Tourism and Aviation, the Governor of Mexico, Ambassadors of Nicaragua and El Salvador, United States Senators, Members of Parliament from Europe, United Nations Representatives, American Olympic Athletes and Coaches have all visited the Tackle Box Sea Bar at Tranquility Bay.
